Day 1: To the Mountains of the Moon
Fort Portal & Crater Lakes
Depart Kampala or Entebbe for a scenic drive west towards the Rwenzori foothills. Arrive in the beautiful town of Fort Portal for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a "Crater Lake Hike" to the 'Top of the World' for panoramic views of the Ndali-Kasenda craters and the Ruwenzori range. Evening check-in at a forest-edge eco-lodge.
Day 2: The Primate Encounter
Chimp Trekking & Bigodi Swamp
Morning briefing at Kanyanchu before entering the Kibale canopy. Track habituated chimpanzees and observe their vocal interactions and complex social structures. In the afternoon, explore the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-run project famous for Great Blue Turacos and several monkey species including Red Colobus and L'Hoest's monkeys.
Day 3: Cultural Heritage & Return
Amabere Caves to Kampala
Visit the Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru caves—a site rich in local folklore and stalactite formations. Followed by a short walk to the hidden waterfalls before beginning the journey back to Kampala. Arrive late afternoon, carrying memories of the forest's haunting chimpanzee calls.
